Today's fitness industry teaches us that the more weight you lift and the more protein you consume, the faster you build muscle? But what happens if you don't have access to the muscles you want to load with heavy weights? - I did "strength training" for years and was disappointed that, despite great training plans, I barely built any muscle and developed serious back pain. If I lay down for too long, my arms or legs would always fall asleep. Pain-free skiing after two knee surgeries? Keep dreaming! So I came to Maria as a bit of a work in progress, not really sure if I was really missing something or if I was simply setting too high standards for myself. I felt comfortable with her right away! She takes plenty of time for her clients; for the first time, your body is viewed as a whole, as a system. What is your body good at, which muscles do you have access to, and how does your body compensate for its weaknesses? Your training plan will be created accordingly. Maria will show you how an exercise should really feel and how it shouldn't. What have I learned? It's not normal for your back to hurt every day. I can build muscle! Even without weights and without pain. Skiing wasn't the problem for my knees; the wrong training was! - Thanks to Maria, my first long winter vacation is already booked :D

First some background information about myself:
I have chronic back pain since about 4 years. Ordinary treatments did not give me the lasting results I aimed for. After some research I discovered PRI, and therefore Maria. I decided for a two week stay in Vienna (I live in the Netherlands) and a total of 6 sessions with Maria during that stay.
Overall the sessions were really good and I felt very comfortable. Each session build up on the previous one, and after each session I saw improvement in my symptoms and felt better overall. One thing I also really enjoyed was, that Maria created different treatment plans for me, based on my improvements. So I can keep treating myself independently.My results after the two weeks are as followed: My overall pain decreased and I am able to be pain free for some moments after the exercises. If my symptoms worsen again due to some triggers in every day life, I’m quickly able to minimize the pain.
I’m excited to see her again and to show her my progress. My healing journey can finally begin!
The main points and advice I would like to give to potential patients:
1. Your healing is a journey and an ongoing process. The more time I spent with Maria the more we were able to figure out what my Body/brain needs. And the more I was able to take home with me to the Netherlands in order to engage into my independent healing journey.
2. If you have time, get familiar with the principles of PRI. This can make the treatment for you easier and more efficient. However, it’s not a must.
